Convex Re has announced itself as one of the best places to work in Bermuda as runner-up on its debut in the Top Ten Employers.
Launched in Bermuda six years ago, the reinsurer has made a flying start. The industry veterans who founded Convex were determined to take a fresh approach. As the company states: “We are passionate about building a best-practice business from scratch, using everything we have learnt during our careers to deliver something new and innovative.”

Convex places a high value on family. One example is that it offers six months of paid maternity leave (with an option for an additional six months unpaid), and unusually in Bermuda, offers the same deal for paternity leave.
One employee tells a revealing story: “When my father was ill last year and required overseas surgeries twice, they permitted me to accompany him without hesitation. When he passed away, they ensured I had the support and time off I needed.”
All employees are eligible for bonuses and can participate in the employee share offer scheme. The company holds annual cost-of-living compensation reviews and provides housing allowances for eligible Bermudians.
Convex runs a summer internship programme and also a graduate and school-leaver programme that offers a permanent position and a career pathway to young talent.
