Here’s to another 25 years!

Bright future in store as Habitat looks to expand

As Habitat for Humanity Bermuda looks to the next 25 years, its mission remains unchanged: to provide safe, decent and affordable housing for all in need.

With a strong foundation, visionary leadership and the continued support of the community, the future is bright.

As we face new challenges with the lack of affordable housing and homelessness in Bermuda, Habitat will evolve and shift along with the needs of the people.

Habitat is forging new alliances to serve those in need. Our plans for the future include:

  • Working with King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to assist seniors who cannot return home after long stays in the hospital due to their houses not being conducive to wheelchairs or other mobility needs. Habitat will work with qualified clients who need their homes adapted to their new reality in order to leave the long-term care ward of the hospital.
  • Partnerships with other charity organisations that offer programmes catering to single mothers and children who need affordable housing to get off the streets or out of contentious living situations.
  • Partnerships with other charity organisations that offer rehabilitation programs for the homeless or mentally challenged in our community.
  • Providing volunteers with training on basic home repairs through on-the-job training while volunteering on our projects.
  • The 25th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity Bermuda is more than a celebration of bricks and mortar — it is a celebration of dreams realised, lives transformed and a community united by compassion. Here’s to 25 years of hope, and to many more to come.
